Matt joins Seahorse from the Wildlife and Countryside Link coalition where he coordinated policy and advocacy work for the environment sector, with a focus on marine and plastics policy. In this role he helped develop the sectors’ policy positions on issues including Highly Protected Marine Areas, blue carbon, and Deposit Return Schemes, and led engagement with civil servants and politicians. He managed the coalition’s work in assessing Government progress on achieving the 30x30 target at sea. 

Prior to this, Matt worked for four years in Parliament for a frontbench MP. In this role he supported a shadow environment minister in their brief covering the marine environment. Matt has a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford and an MSc in International Social Change and Policy from the University of Sheffield.
