Salary: £75,000 - £85,000
Holiday: 25 days’ holiday, bank holidays and 3 cause days for voluntary commitments
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Minimum 2 days in the London office (Southbank) and home
Contract: Full time

Do you want to make a difference where it matters most?
We are seeking a visionary Director to join our agency who can focus on making sure the regulation and legislation that underpins UK infrastructure is fit for a net zero future. With infrastructure at the heart of the UK's decarbonisation efforts, your expertise will ensure the transition is not only cost-effective but also nature positive.
In this new role, you will spearhead the growth of our infrastructure client base, supporting and building on our existing energy practice. This will involve leading on client acquisition and business development, and driving forward impactful strategies for leading organisations looking to influence legislation and policy.
As a Director, you will also play a key role in growing the Seahorse business and developing the team, with opportunities for line management and playing an active role in knowledge development across the organisation.
The role
We’re looking for an energetic and entrepreneurial Director who can:
Deliver excellent client work and isn’t afraid to get stuck in
Grow their own practice, manage a team and pursue new business opportunities
Be a crucial member of Seahorse’s senior team to develop our junior function and drive the culture and operations of the business
The role involves driving team and company growth. We’ll need you to:
Effectively prioritise and respond to client servicing, team management, and capacity planning needs
Deliver effective communication to clients and stakeholders, including building and maintaining relationships with clients, media, political figures, NGOs, and business contacts
Lead business development initiatives such as proposals and pitches.
Deliver insight led strategic advice on how to effectively make the case for regulatory and legislative change
Foster positive company culture and support the Managing Director in building internal company policies and training programmes
Your experience
8+ years’ experience with significant time spent in a similar agency environment
Ability to deliver a new business approach from responding to an initial client brief through to execution and evaluation
Proven track record of providing high level political strategy and intelligence to clients, devising and implementing strategic communications plans and integrated campaigns
Demonstrated knowledge and time advising on infrastructure related issues be it in the water sector, housing or energy and ability to develop new knowledge of emerging industries.
Demonstrable network and experience of working with policymakers, journalists and businesses
A history of successfully seeking out and winning new business opportunities
Proven ability of contributing to the overall strategy of a business unit or organisation as a member of the senior leadership team

Strong understanding of UK politics and parliamentary procedure – knowing how to influence policy development and build relationships with politicians and civil servants
Understanding of UK media and how to develop and pitch a good story, along with strong media relationships in your field of expertise
High standard written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including proven ability to draft copy for multiple mediums, strong storytelling ability, accurate use of language (including technical language), and attention to detail.
