Alastair started his early career working for BusinessWeek International in New York and then founded and built two award winning communications agencies - Scope Communications and Consolidated Communications Group (PR Week’s agency of the year 2001). 

In 2004 he became CEO of Reed Exhibitions Ltd before starting a portfolio career in 2010. Since then he has been Chairman of Dods Group Plc, Blue Rubicon, Hanover Communications, Finn PR, Longitude Research, Nano Interactive Group and a strategic advisor to Centaur Media Plc and Gartner Inc. He has also been chairman of Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Vice Chairman of SSAFA - the armed forces charity.
